Dragon Star PHP RPG Engine - Combat Multiplayer Game

This is going to be a remake of an old game I once wrote called Fierce Fighters. It was the equivilent of an RPG deathmatch between 2 to 4 people playing teams of 4 characters. Being a Commodore 64 game, it left much to be desired, although it did have a decent sound track. :P This game has already been rewritten once in QBasic- and had added equipment and a larger array of spells to the things heroes had at their disposal.

Things this game will feature:

  • Multiplayer combat - Your heroes will be able to join with other teams of characters to form multi-player parties. These parties will duke it out deathmatch style until only one party is left standing!
  • Hero, team, and party ratings - Your combat prowess will strengthen and improve your Potential eXperience Points (PXP), proving that you are the best (and making you a fat, juicy target for other players in combat!) Teams and parties will be matched up according to the PXP they have earned.
  • Fight wagering - Increase your gold holdings by betting on the outcomes of fights, including ones you participate in! (NOTE: You will not be able to bet against yourself. You may only bet that you will win or that another party you are fighting will lose.)
  • Loot and pillage - If you beat them in combat, you can either swap a piece of equipment of your choice or randomly loot one item from the fallen. Take what is rightfully yours!
  • Awesome skills and spells - These will be the same as what is in the other games, or at least the MMORPG! Make your foe (or friend) eat a fireball!
  • Cool equipment - Sword, mace, pistol, or greneade, you can pound your opposition to pieces!
  • Support items - Think you need help? Invest in utility items like a Sleep Grenade or a Ressurection Orb to tip the scales in your favor!
  • If it works well, I will try to incorporate this game as a part of the MMORPG as a combat arena!

Things I already know you will not be able to do:

  • Exchanges between teams - you will not be able to give gold, items, or heroes to any other teams, including ones you play.
  • The earlier versions of Fierce Fighters allowed you to distribute your won XP on stats as you saw fit. In this game, you will only be able to earn it; your characters will grow automatically.
  • Fights with both MMORPG teams and Fierce Fighters teams - the two worlds will remain separate, even if they participate in the same sport.

If you think of any cool ideas that you would like to see in this game, please tell me about them!
