Privacy Policy

Who am I?
I am a single video game enthusiast who has always wanted to make games that others find enjoyable. These games are ideas I have come up with over the last 43 years, and I hope that you have as much fun playing them as I do making them.
As this is not my day job, my games are available free to play, and I use advertising revenue to offset my costs. I also maintain a Patreon account at patreon.com/wilminator, where you may contribute to help keep these games up for everyone.
This policy covers wilminator.com, the Wilminator account at accounts.wilminator.com, and every game that links to this page ("we", "us"). Each game also has its own privacy page that covers the game data it keeps; they are listed under Game-specific details. We collect as little as we can.
Your Wilminator account
The Wilminator account lets you use one sign-in for every game, and lets every game know if you support us on Patreon. Signing in is optional wherever a game lets you play without it. You sign in with an account you already have, such as Google; other providers, such as Steam, Discord, Apple or Facebook, may be added later. We never see the password for that account, and the Wilminator account has no password of its own.
Information from Google
When you sign in with Google, we ask Google only for your basic sign-in information: your Google account ID (a number that identifies your account to us) and your email address. We keep your email address only if Google has verified it, and we collect nothing else from Google. We use this only to sign you in, to link your sign-ins to the same account, and to give your verified email address to a game that we have allowed to ask for it. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it except as this policy describes. It is deleted when you delete your account.
What the account keeps
- An account ID. It never changes and is never reused, and each game stores your game data under it.
- Which sign-ins you have linked: the provider and that provider's ID for you.
- Your email address, only if the provider has verified it. A game receives it only if that game is allowed to ask for it.
- If you link Patreon: your Patreon user ID, your tier and the date your support is paid through.
- Your choice to show ads even while you are a supporter.
- Which games you have used, so we can tell them if you delete your account.
- A suggested display name. Each game may use it or let you pick your own.
- Your sign-in session and the short-lived codes used while signing in, stored only as a one-way scrambled code (a hash).
- For desktop games, a sign-in token, also stored as a hash.
- Counters that slow down abuse, keyed by a hash of your internet address, never the address itself.
What it never keeps
Passwords, real names, pictures, birthdays, home addresses, payment details, game data, game usernames, friends lists or chat. Those either stay with the provider or belong to each game.
Cookies
We use cookies. Most importantly, they enable the ads that pay for these games. We limit our use of cookies to those our advertising partners use, those needed to make our login system work, and those that keep your personalization settings on our websites.
- The account site sets one sign-in cookie, used only on accounts.wilminator.com, so that signing in to your next game takes one click.
- Each game may set its own sign-in cookie and a cookie for your settings, such as sound and volume. Its own privacy page lists them.
- Advertising partners set their own cookies, as explained under Advertising.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The games still work, but they will not keep you signed in or remember your settings.
If you use the Contact page
When you send a message from the Contact page on accounts.wilminator.com, we receive the name (if you give one), the email address and the message you type.
- We email a short receipt to that address using Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). The receipt does not repeat your message.
- If the receipt is delivered, your message is forwarded to my inbox so I can answer it. If it bounces, your message is discarded.
- While it waits for the receipt, your message is stored with Amazon Web Services in the United States. If the receipt is not delivered within 24 hours, the message is dropped. Once it is forwarded or dropped, the stored copy is erased. The forwarded copy, and any replies we exchange by email, stay in those inboxes.
- To prevent abuse, we count messages per internet address and per email address. These counters store only a hash, never the address itself, and are deleted after a day or two.
We use what you send only to answer you. We never add you to a mailing list.
Supporting on Patreon
- One Patreon pledge counts in every game. Patreon handles all payments.
- If you link Patreon, we store your Patreon user ID, your tier and the date your support is paid through. We never receive your Patreon email, name or payment details.
- Each game decides what thank-you perks supporters get, and whether your support is shown to other players. Its own page explains those choices.
- Unlinking Patreon deletes everything above from your account.
Advertising
Our games show ads to pay for running them, including ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technology to show ads and to measure them:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our websites or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe).
- If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests.
Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads inHow Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before ads use cookies or personal data in ways that require it, and you can change your choice at any time.
Supporters may turn ads off in the games that offer it, and can choose to show ads anyway. We do not give advertisers your name, email address or game history. The only information advertising partners receive about you is what their own cookies and technology collect.
Analytics
We do not use analytics to track how you use our sites. If we ever add it, it will only apply to signed-in players who turn it on.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that run our sites (Google and other sign-in providers for signing in, Patreon for support, Amazon Web Services for storing account data and sending Contact page email, Render for hosting websites and Cloudflare for delivering them), with the games you use as described above, with advertising partners as described above, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account information: until you delete your account. We may also delete accounts that have been inactive for over a year, as our Terms of Use explain.
- Your sign-in session on the account site: 30 days.
- Sign-in codes: from a minute to ten minutes.
- Desktop game sign-ins: 30 days from when you last used them.
- Abuse counters: minutes to a day or two.
Deleting your account
Sign in on your account page at accounts.wilminator.com and choose to delete your account. Before you confirm, the page shows which games hold data for you. When you confirm, your account, your linked sign-ins and your Patreon information are deleted straight away, and every game you used is told to delete its data for you. If a game cannot be reached, we keep trying for about two and a half days. This cannot be undone. Some games also let you delete only that game's data; see the game's own page.
Your choices
- Delete your account, as described above.
- Unlink a sign-in or Patreon on your account page.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser.
- Turn off personalized ads, using the links under Advertising.
- Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your personal information, such as the right to see it or have it corrected. Use the Contact page and we will help.
Children
Our games are for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it. If you believe a child has signed in, delete the account as described above, or use the Contact page and we will delete it.
Game-specific details
Each game's own policy covers the data that game keeps:
